SMS Bridge for Microsoft Teams (“SMS Bridge,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a product of Elysian Productions Inc. It enables users to send and receive SMS/MMS messages directly within Microsoft Teams channels.

Information We Collect

a. Account & Configuration Data

• Microsoft Entra Id identity.
• Team, channel and tab configuration data.
• Assigned SMS inbound phone numbers and outbound phone numbers.

b. Account & Configuration Data

• SMS/MMS message content sent and received through the app.
• Phone numbers and associated contact information of message senders and recipients as delivered by their SMS/MMS provider.
• Message timestamps and delivery status.

c. Account & Configuration Data

• Media files sent via MMS. (e.g., images, videos, documents, audio)
• Metadata associated with attachments. (file type, size, timestamps)

Attachments may be temporarily or persistently stored depending on system configuration and usage.

d. Usage & Diagnostic Data

• Application usage logs.
• Error reports and diagnostic data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide SMS/MMS messaging functionality through Microsoft Teams.  
• Route messages and attachments to the correct team, channel and tab.  
• Store and retrieve message history and media when applicable.  
• Maintain, monitor, and improve service performance.  
• Provide customer support.  
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or misuse.  

4. Third-Party Services (Twilio)

SMS Bridge uses Twilio to send and receive SMS/MMS messages.

When you use the app:

• Message content, attachments, and phone numbers are transmitted to Twilio.  

• Twilio processes this data to deliver messages and media.  

• Twilio may store and process this data according to its own privacy practices.

5. Sensitive Information, HIPAA, and PII

SMS Bridge may transmit message content that includes personally identifiable information (PII) or other sensitive data.

• SMS Bridge is not intended to be used as a secure system of record for sensitive data.  
• SMS/MMS messages and attachments are not guaranteed to be encrypted end-to-end.  
• Users are responsible for determining whether the service is appropriate for their use case.

HIPAA Disclaimer:

We do not represent that SMS Bridge is compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by default.

• Do not use SMS Bridge to transmit Protected Health Information (PHI) unless compliance requirements are independently verified.  
• Third-party providers such as Twilio may process data outside of our direct control.  
• We do not enter into Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) unless explicitly agreed in writing.  

By using the service, you acknowledge these limitations.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Message and Attachment Storage

SMS Bridge may store message content and MMS attachments:

• Temporarily, for routing and delivery purposes.  
• Persistently, to enable message history, retrieval, and continuity within Teams.  

Retention Period

• Data may be retained for as long as necessary to provide the service and support operational needs.  
• In some cases, data may be stored long-term or indefinitely unless deletion is requested.  

Deletion

• Users or administrators may request deletion of stored data.  
• We will make reasonable efforts to delete data from our systems, though backups and third-party systems may retain copies for a limited period.  

International Data Processing

SMS Bridge and its service providers, including Twilio, may process, transmit, and store data in countries other than the country where you or your organization are located. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

By using SMS Bridge, you acknowledge and agree that your data may be transferred to and processed in such locations for the purpose of providing the service.

7. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal data.

• With service providers (such as Twilio) strictly to operate the service.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect your information.

We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Microsoft Teams Platform Relationship

SMS Bridge operates within Microsoft Teams and relies on Microsoft-provided services and APIs to function. Microsoft operates Microsoft Teams independently and acts as a separate data controller for any data processed by Microsoft as part of the Teams platform.

We do not control and are not responsible for Microsoft’s collection, use, or processing of data within Microsoft Teams. Your use of Microsoft Teams is governed by Microsoft’s applicable agreements, terms, and privacy policies.
